Job Conditions – Air and substrate temperature for application of Wood Grain Glaze must be 40°F (5°C) or higher and must remain 40°F (5°C) or higher for a minimum of 24 hours. Provide temporary protection until Wood Grain Glaze is fully dried. Store materials within prescribed temperature limits and out of direct sunlight. Working and drying times are based upon normal room temperature conditions and will vary with temperature and humidity.

Preparation – The Wood Grain Tex Finish must be clean, dry and ready to receive the acrylic coating.

Equipment Needed – Brush, 4”-6” (102-154 mm) Foam Roller, Spray bottle with water, Wood Grain Tool (Available from Master Wall®), Wood Grain Sealer.

Mixing – Thoroughly stir Wood Grain Glaze into a homogenous consistency. Small amounts of clean, potable water may be added to obtain a workable consistency. Do not over mix. Do not exceed 24 ounces (0.7L) of water per pail. Do not add accelerators or retarders to Wood Grain Glaze.

Application – Wood Grain Glaze is applied by brush or a moist foam roller.
Using a paint brush for latex paints, brush Wood Grain Glaze into the grooves of the finish.
Using a moist foam roller, roll a thin amount of Wood Grain Glaze onto the finish surface and keep a wet edge.

  • Using a spray bottle, wet the surface of the Wood Grain Glaze to thin and keep from tacking too quickly.
  • Add grain to the surface using the Wood Grain Tool along the length of the grooved finish, rocking the tool to create the desired pattern.
  • Once dry to the touch, lightly sand the surface if needed using 100-grit sandpaper to remove any high spots or heavy stain areas.
  • Using a sponge or roam roller, cover the entire surface with Wood Grain Sealer.

Clean Up
Tools and equipment can be cleaned with soapy water when Wood Grain Glaze is wet.
