What drew you to Master Wall Inc.?

Steve Smithwick is what drew me to Master Wall. He was just starting the business when we met and we had an opportunity to work together. That gave me a chance to get to know Steve. We had similar values and he was obviously a man of integrity. He also had a vision of what Master Wall could be one day. I liked all of that and wanted to be a part of a company with those values and that vision.

What is your favorite part about working at Master Wall Inc.?

The freedom of an empowerment work environment and the camaraderie within the company.

What is a typical day at Master Wall like for you?

As the General Manager my days vary from involvement in sales, production, R & D, color matching and sample making. I obviously don’t do all of those things but try and support the needs of those groups and help streamline our processes within those departments.

What do you think are the best skills you bring to your job?

I am a good listener and care about people. I started my career in this industry as an applicator working for my father. So, I can use a hawk & trowel which gives me the ability to communicate with contractors that install EIFS and Stucco.

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?

Professionally, I am passionate about Master Wall’s culture. Our mission statement, written by Steve Smithwick years ago, has set the culture of this company. It is largely shaped our reputation in the EIFS business. Personally, I am passionate about my relationship with God, my wife of almost 40 years, my 2 children, and my 7 grandchildren. I also like to play golf a little.

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?

I like to read books and articles. I learn from doing so. So, I always want to learn and grow in my faith and my general knowledge.

What are some of your hobbies?

Golf, golf, golf, and some fishing.
